Georgia State University is a leading American University
with an enrollment of over 33,000 students, it has over 1,000 full
time faculty and over 500 part-time faculty. GSU has students from
over 140 countries.GSU has six schools and colleges and offers 52
undergraduate and graduate level programmes in over 250 fields of
study.
Since its formation in 1953, the Department of Risk Management
and Insurance has grown to become one of the most known internationally.
The department is one of the oldest and largest of its type
and offers an extensive curriculum focused on identifying, understanding,
managing, and financing risks faced by individuals, organizations,
and society. Specialty postgraduate offerings include risk management,
insurance, actuarial science, personal financial planning, and
legal studies.
The program was
recently ranked by US News and World Report to
be among the top two in the
US.
One in six actuaries practicing in the US has
studied at GSU.
