Admission to IIIF – P.G.D.I.R.M. Full
time program - 1) What are the eligibility criteria to seek admission? 2) What is the admission procedure? 3) In whose favor should the demand draft be taken? TOP 12) Should the fee be paid on lump-sum or can it be paid on installment basis? 13) Is IIIF’s P.G.D.I.R.M. programme approved by Banks for Educational Loans? 14) What are the types of jobs that are available after passing the course? 15) What types of companies are recruiting PGDIRM students? 16) Is there any specialization in the P.G.D.I.R.M. program? 18) What is the past placement record? 19) Are campus placements held at IIIF? 20) Are there any distant learning courses or part time courses offered by IIIF? 1) What are the eligibility criteria to seek admission? § Any graduate from U.G.C. recognized University in India and abroad. § Students pursuing their final year in graduation can also apply; admission would be subject to the passing/ announcement of result by 31st August of admission year. 2) What is the admission procedure? § Students have to take the admission application form either through walk-in or by sending a demand draft of Rs.500 and apply for admission in the prescribed procedure to get Hall ticket. Those who send Rs.500 demand (in favor of "I I I F") shall send it to "The Registrar, IIIF, Platinum Jubilee Building, PGRRCDE, Osmania University, Hyderabad -7" clearly mentioning their address along with a covering letter. § Applicants can also get the admission application from website/email and submit it, in prescribed procedure, with a demand draft of Rs.500 to get Hall ticket and prospectus. soft copy of the application can After receipt of the above IIIF would send the hall ticket and micro presentation topics to the applicants. § Applicants have to appear and write ‘IIIF Entrance Test’ (IET) and give a Micro presentation (M.P.)
§ Admission is subject to the applicants’ performance in IET and M.P. 3) In whose favor should the demand draft be taken? Payable at which place? § In favor of: “I.I.I.F.” § Payable at Hyderabad TOP 4) What is the model of IIIF Entrance Test (IET)? § Entrance test comprises of objective type questions in English, Reasoning, Arithmetic and General Awareness. § Examination is of two hours duration. § Students have to give their answers on O.M.R. sheet. 5) Any exemptions to IIIF Entrance Test? § Students seeking exemption also have to first apply for admission as mentioned above. § Students who secure more than 50% in GMAT/ AIMA/ AIMET/ ICET in that particular admission year can get exemption from writing IIIF Entrance Test. § However, they have to give the Micro Presentation to seek admission. 6) What is the concept of Micro Presentation (M.P.)? § Micro Presentation is a brief presentation, for 10 minutes on a specific topic which the applicants have to give before a panel of judges. § The topics for presentation would be made available in advance. § Marks would be awarded according to the performance in M.P. TOP 7) Where and when are the I.E.T. and M.P. conducted? § I.E.T. can be conducted at any center where the Institute receives more than twenty applications. § Examination centers would be decided after receipt of all applications and would be intimated to the students. § Students would have to indicate the order of priority of examination centers. § Center nearest to the chosen center would be allotted to outstation candidates for the written test in case no examination is to be conducted in any center of his/ her choice. § M.P. shall be conducted only in Hyderabad. § I.E.T. & M.P. dates would be informed in advance to the applicants.
8) When are the admission results announced? TOP § Dates of announcement of result would be communicated to the applicants by email. 9) Are there any criteria for minimum age and minimum percentage of marks in graduation for admission? § Minimum age is 20 years, usual age of completion of graduation. § Students in the age group of 20-25 are encouraged to seek admission into the one year full time PGDIRM program. § Students who have graduated can seek admission irrespective of their percentage of marks in graduation. 10) Does IIIF have a hostel? Is it compulsory? § IIIF helps in securing hostel accommodation to the outstation candidates. § Private hostel facilities are available to boys and girls separately nearby to the campus. § It is not compulsory to join a hostel. Students on their own can make arrangements to stay. 11) What is the course fee? TOP § Course fee is Rs.60, 000 + alumni fee of Rs.5, 000. Besides, students have to pay the study material charges, which will be announced by IIIF. 12) Should the fee be paid as lump-sum or can it be paid on installment basis? § Students can pay the fee in two installments at the most. 13) Is IIIF’s P.G.D.I.R.M. programme approved by Banks for Educational Loans? § Yes, Andhra Bank, State Bank of India, HDFC bank, and Bank of Baroda approved the course for educational loans. § Other banks are also giving loans to the students seeking admission at IIIF. 14) What types of jobs are available after passing the course? TOP § PGDIRM has helped the students to get the following jobs in insurance sector: o Underwriting o Claims management o Policy servicing o Customer support o Operations o Financial management o Investment management o Risk management o Marketing o Banc assurance 15) What types of companies have been recruiting P.G.D.I.R.M. students? § Life insurance companies § General insurance companies § Third Party Administrators § Insurance intermediaries § Software companies (as business analyst / domain specialist) § Insurance B.P.O.s 16) Is there any specialization in the P.G.D.I.R.M. program? TOP § There is no specialization in the program. § Students get specialized inputs during their project work. 17) What is Project Work? § Project work is to be carried out by the students after the end of second semester examinations roughly for a period of eight weeks. 18) What is the past placement record? § Past placement record of IIIF is near 100% § Students have not only joined insurance related companies but also made remarkable progress in their careers 19) Are campus placements held at IIIF?
